Role Overview:
To attend events and fayres representing Sight Support Worthing – a charity for people who are sight impaired.
Example of duties depending on skills and experience:
- Welcoming visitors to the SSW stall
- Speaking to people about what we do and raising awareness of visual impairment
- Promoting voluntary work
- Informing members of the public about membership with our charity
- Running games on the stalls to interact with members of the public
- Recording details of people who would like to join SSW in membership, support or donating
- Taking donations by cash or digital (sum up)
- Setting up and packing away the SSW stall
- Possibly using the SSW charity car for equipment if needed
Competencies:
Soft skills – Friendly, conversational, helpful and flexible to support charity service users / members and the team
Organisation – Able to prioritise and deal with a variety of tasks
Communication verbal and written – ability to adapt tone and content to the audience. Be confident in engaging with members of the public
Driving license beneficial, but not essential.
