Showdown overview: Showdown is a dynamic sport originally designed for blind and partially sighted people but is open to everyone. It has been described as the blind community’s answer to air hockey or table tennis.
Role Overview:
To assist with Showdown games held at our centre in Rowlands Road.
Example of duties depending on skills and experience:
- Setting up the Showdown table ready for games
- Refereeing and observing matches
- Assist with refreshments for players
- Assisting with pack away after the session
Competencies:
Soft skills – Friendly, conversational, helpful and flexible to support charity service users / members and the team
Organisation – Able to prioritise and deal with a variety of tasks
